Top military leaders Lieutenant General Hla Min, Commander of Tactical Operation Command and Brigadier General Ko Ko Naing, Commander of Western command visited Paletwa Township, Chin state, Burma on 4 November.

“Thirty local people of Tura Iang village of Paletwa were met by the two regional army commanders. The commanders donated 3 lakh Kyats to the village leaders,” said a local from Tura Iang village.

The local people told Khonumthung that the two commanders arrived in an army aircraft and discussed regional security and development issues.

Paletwa is situated between Bangladesh-Burma border and Arakan state. Paletwa is important for reasons of security for the Burmese government. Local people are worried about the Arakan crisis spreading in their region.

“Traders of these regions do not dare to travel, so security is very important for local people,” said a boat owner from Paletwa.

Traders of Paletwa are trading through Paletwa from Kyawdaw of Arakan state by boats and the Kaladan River is used for trading from every place of this region through Tura Iang village.

The Commander of Tactical Operation command and Commander of Western Command left from Tura Iang village to Sittwe Town of Arakan state by an army aircraft at 3 pm local standard time.
