    Chin unity came from Falam assembly: CNF Secretary General

    The Secretary General of the Chin National Front (CNF) said at the public consultation meeting that the Chin historical unity has come into effect from Falam Town, Chin state of Burma.

    The public consultation meeting under the leadership of Dr. Za Hlei Thang, Chairman of CNF’s supreme council was conducted in the Town hall of Falam on 17 December.

    At the meeting, Pu Zing Cung, Secretary General of CNF made a reference to the  Falam assembly which was adopted at the Chin National Day with 5000 people attending on 20 February 1948.

    “National day was adopted in February 1948 with a call for unity of all Chin people on the principles of democracy. We have to serve with revolutionary spirit of the Falam conference, The Chin people should unite,” said Pu Zing Cung.

    The public consultation team of the CNF led by Dr Za Hlei Thang was warmly welcomed with a dinner by Falam Town elders, women’s group, religious bodies, government officials, youths and students totaling around 10,000 in their traditional dresses.

    Dr. Za Hlei Thang also stated in the meeting that he jointed CNF to serve the Chin national cause because CNF’s aims and objectives are similar to his ideas. The CNF is also addressing national issues, so, all Chin nationals are requested to join CNF, he added.

    Slogans like “democracy is our cause, unity is our cause and federal establishment is our cause’ were shouted in the public consultation meeting by the local people.

    “CNF representatives were warmly welcomed by crowds in Falam Town ” said a secretary of CNF peace conciliation committee.
