    State government to resolve starvation problem in Chin state

    A move to resolve the starvation problem plaguing Than Tlang, Hakha and Falam Town of Chin state, Burma is being made by Pu Hung Ngai, Chief Minister of Chin state and governmental officials since the second week of January.

    An administrator of Than Tlang Township met the Chief Minister, Colonel Zaw Min Oo, Minister of Security and Border affairs, Nan Za Hmung, Minister of Finance, Pu Van Thawng, Agriculture’s Minister and departmental officials and discussed ways to resolve starvation in the state on 23 January, said a local.

    In the meeting, it was decided that six ploughing machines would be provided to each village of Than Tlang Township by the Chief Minister to tackle poverty in the state.

    “I heard that machines were being provided by the Japanese government,” said a local from Than Tlang.

    At the same time, a proposal on social issues was submitted to the Chief Minister by Pu Lal Maung Cung, Hluttaw representative of Than Tlang Township and Pu Roben.

    A training school for  youth, training centre for domestic chores, nursing homes and the civil hospital of Falam Town were visited by team of the Chief Minister.

    The Chief Minister also provided four ploughing machines for Chungcung, Hniarlawn villages, Hakha Myothit block and Loklung along paddy seeds and maize seeds through the administrator of Hakha, the capital of Chin state on 25 January.
