A group of singers from Mizoram state, northeast India will perform in the celebrations of the 25th anniversary of the Chin Association of Christian Communication (CACC) in Hakha, the captial of Chin state, Burma in the first week of next month.
The singers from Mizoram and a Baptist Choir group will participate and perform in the silver jubilee of the CACC to be celebrated between 5 and 7 April, said Pu Hmingtea, a Church leader of Mizoram Baptist Association.
“We will leave for Chin state in 1 April by a bus provided by the Baptists. Mafaki, Pensy, Bethsy, Lalrinsangi the Mizoram singers and a choir group will accompany us,” said Pu Hmingtea.
The Mizoram Baptist Association has submitted an application to the Chin state government to cross the Indo-Burma border to Hakha by bus. The CACC authority will take up the matter if the application fetches no response, said Pu Hmingtea.
“I am happy to hear that singers from Mizoram will come. Many local people are also excited about it,” said a local from Hakha.
The Mizoram singers and the choir group are going to leave on April 1 from Mizoram and reach Tahan, Khampat, Tamu Town of Sagaing division and Falam, Than Tlang of Chin state.
The CACC was formed in 1988 and is a faith based organization in Chin state. It is an umbrella organization of various Baptist associations of Chin people.
