A meeting organized by the Mizo Student Union (MSU) at I & PR hall has decided to hold the Chinlung Chhuak Zofa festival in Hakha. The meeting was held in Aizawl city, Mizoram northeast state of India on 29 March.

MSU president,  Zodinpuia said that Chin-Kuki-Mizo (Lushai) tribes were separated during British colonial rule and now they live in India, Bangladesh and Myanmar, but they are still one tribe. Therefore, there is need to hold a meeting between Chin-Kuki-Mizo tribes in these three countries to forge a good relationship, unity and to understand the relationship of blood which is historical.

A working committee has been organized by each group from Chin state and Mizoram state in order to invite all Chin (Zo) tribes in India and Bangladesh to participate in the festival.

At the same time, the meeting also set up an Art & Cultural Committee, and a Literature Committee. The meeting will be called ‘Chinlung Culture Festival or Zo Culture Festival.

Mizo Student Union in Mizoram state is mainly working for diversity in unity among the tribes and its motto is “There is boundary in a country, but no boundary in a tribe.”
