A four-year girl was raped by her uncle in Hakha, the capital of Chin state, Burma on 3 September at around 3 pm local time.

The girl was raped by a kin of her father in old town block of Hakha. The rapist was identified as Sangte (27) son of Biak Hnin, said a local.

“The incident happened near Tawsat Kana Tala School when she was being taken home by her uncle after she had visited her friends,” said her mother from Hakha.

It is learnt that Sangte was drunk and the girl was gagged by the culprit. He promised to buy her a cake.

“My daughter cried when she saw me. She was not back till 5 pm and I went looking for her. She revealed what had happened, “said her mother.

The girl was admitted to Hakha hospital, injured and bleeding.

The culprit is absconding following a report at the Hakha police station. But the police arrested and detained his father.

The girl’s mother is working as a labourer for her family. Sangte is divorced and an alcoholic. Khonumthung news
