On 9 February around two a.m., a police station was captured in Thangtlang town by a combined force of the Chin National Army, which is armed wing of Chin National Front (CNF/CNA), and Thangtlang Chinland Defense Force (Thangtlang CDF).

According to representatives of these Chin resistance groups at least four Burma Army soldiers were killed during the fighting.

Lt Aa Thang of the CNA was killed and another CNA soldier was injured.

Salai Htet Ni (source 1), spokesperson for the CNF/CNA, said that the combined forces of the CNA and Thangtlang CDF started attacking the police station in Zung Mung ward in Thangtlang town around nine p.m. on 8 February.

“About 40 policemen and soldiers usually stay in the Thangtlang police station. Our troops began attacking the police station around 9 p.m. Finally, we successfully seized the police station around 2 a.m. early morning. We captured more than 40 rifles and four dead bodies of soldiers from the Burma Army. Other soldiers and policemen fled from the police station. Now our troops are searching them in jungle,” Salai Htet Ni (source 1) told Khonumthung news.

Salai Htet Ni (source 1) said that in addition to the 40 rifles, they took possession of grenades, ammunition and an anti-drone weapon during the clash.

Salai Htet Ni (source 1) said that after they captured the Thangtlang police station, a Burma Army fighter jet dropped bombs on a small CAN military post located near Van Zang hill and Lung Lel village.

Today, more fighter jets are flying over Thangtlang town, and Burma Army is sending additional soldiers from Hakha town to Thangtlang town.
