The Military Council attacked Tedim from Friday evening until Saturday morning, causing destruction to several homes in the northern Chin State town’s Myoma Ward.
“According to my knowledge, 4-5 houses were damaged by shelling and rifle fire. So far, I haven’t heard of any residents being injured,” a local resident said anonymously.
Soldiers assaulted the town for a duration of four hours, launching at least 10 shells. Windows and roofs of homes were damaged, as well as a water tank and people’s cooking materials.
An unexploded munition was discovered within the compound of the CMBC Church.
Locals were left astonished as to why the attack occurred.
On 16 August, a vehicle owned by the General Administration Department for Tedim Township was stolen from its parking area in the absence of security, coinciding with a Buddhist celebration.
Additionally, another vehicle owned by the Tedim Public Hospital was taken a few days ago.
