The Kanpetlet Chinland Defense Force (Kanpetlet CDF) has officially joined the Chin Brotherhood Alliances, according to a statement released by the Chin Brotherhood Alliance on 6 March 2024.

The announcement followed multiple meetings between the Kanpetlet CDF and the Chin Brotherhood Alliance.

In its statement, the Chin Brotherhood Alliance said that its members would cooperate with other organizations and individuals from Burma and abroad on Chin national affairs and union affairs. The Alliance said that it will cooperate with other organizations until the establishment of future government which is based on the norms and values of democracy.

The Chin Brotherhood Alliance was formed on 30 December 2023 by the ZFU/Zoland PDF, the CNC/Mindat CDF and the CNO/CNDF. Their stated objective in forming the Alliance was to cooperate on military and political issues for Chin state and Chin national affairs.

The current members of the Chin Brotherhood Alliance are the Zomi Federal Union/Zoland PDF (ZFU/Zoland PDF), the Chin National Council (Mindat) (CNC/Mindat CDF), the Chin National Organization/Chin National Defense Force (CNO/CNDF), the Mara Territorial Committee/Mara Defense Force (MTC/MDF) and the Kanpetlet Chinland Defense Force (Kanpetlet CDF).

The Kanpetlet CDF has five battalions including the Victoria battalion, the Vakok battalion, the Tumee battalion, the Khonu battalion and the Mahuyar battalion. In a statement released on 31 January 2024, the Kanpetlet CDF announced they would cooperate with the Chin Brotherhood Alliances on military and political affairs as well as to work towards the establishment of an all-inclusive Chinland Council and a Chin State government which grants federal democracy, justice and equality.

Khonumthung News was unable to independently confirm whether People’s Administration Council for Kanpetlet Township is now a member of the Chin Brotherhood Alliance.
