Over the past five months in 2025, the military junta conducted 18 airstrikes in Mindat Township, Chin State, resulting in 10 deaths and 20 injuries among local residents, according to a statement from the interim Mindat Township People’s Administration Team.

From January to 11 June 2025, these 18 airstrikes involved dropping over 40 bombs.

These attacks damaged more than 100 structures, including 11 religious buildings, 26 government buildings, and 71 private residences, the statement said.

Over the five-month period, the junta airstrikes targeted Bawa Thit Ward in Mindat town four times, Ah Shey Pyin Ward three times, San Pya Ward twice, and several villages within Minidat Township.

In December 2024, the Chinland Defense Force (CDF), Chin Brotherhood, and allied forces launched an offensive, capturing Mindat town. Despite ongoing efforts to rebuild and resettle the town, the junta airstrikes have significantly hindered residents’ ability to return and settle, resulting in low resettlement rates, according to reports.
