The Agriculture Minister of Chin state visited Than Tlang Township, with the administrator of the Township and departmental officials to discuss road communication issues with local people.

Unfinished road construction was discussed with local people on 17 February. Road building is to continue on a self help basis by local people of 12 villages. The road will connect Thing Hual village of Than Tlang Township and Falam Township.

“Mr. Van Thawng, Agriculture Minister promised people that his government will provide a bulldozer to the local people for the construction. Animal husbandry will not succeed if transportation conditions are poor, said a local.

The local people will submit an application to the Minister regarding the need for road construction after discussions among themselves.

Thing Hual and Falam Township by road can be reached in a day from Champhai district, Mizoram state of northeast India.

The Agriculture Minister and the Chin state government are directing and supporting people on road construction in the region on a self help basis. Khonumthung news
