Khonumthung News : Thang Chum (60) a Burmese refugee staying in New Delhi, died in hospital on June 4 after being bitten by a dog.
Thang Chum was bitten by a dog on 21 March 2012, when he was outside his home. He was given seven injections in a clinic after which he was admitted to a hospital. But the clinic referred him to a hospital on 28 May 2012.
Thang Chum was also suffering from dengue hemorrhagic fever in Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) hospital in New Delhi. The doctors at DDU hospital said the patient was suffering from rabies.
The patient was readmitted to DDU hospital on 3 June 2012, but the doctors at DDU hospital gave up on the patient. Chun died at his home.
Than Chum was from Hmun Halh village of Than Tlang township, Chin state and was staying under UNHCR protection in Delhi with his family.
