A letter demanding adequate electricity will be submitted to the President of Burma by the people of Paletwa town, Chin state.

Three blocks of Paletwa Town are being supplied power for one and-a-half hours per-day by the Engineering, Procurement and Construction of Burma. The inadequate power supply is affecting local employers of various sectors, students, and departmental offices.

“We demanded an increase in the number of hours of power supply to the authorities since last year and they granted some of our demand for the last six months. So, we plan to demand to the President of Burma for electricity supply for three hours a day,” said a leader of the Electric Improvement Committee of Paletwa.

Signatures will be collected from three blocks — Myoh-ma, Yua-ma and Yieh-khah among the six blocks in Paletwa town.

Similarly, a signature campaign letter was submitted to Mr. Thein Sein, the President of Burma on 3 July by local people of Matupi Town, Chin state to improve electricity supply.

Local people from three blocks such as Ngala, Lawngvan and Khoboi went in for a signature campaign among the four blocks in Matupi Town. Khonumthung news
