    Matu cultural group wins dance competition in Matupi

    A township level cultural dance competition was concluded in Matupi, the second capital of Chin state, Burma on 1 September 2012.

    The cultural dance competition was held in Bungtla hall. It was inaugurated by Colonel Han Tu, commander of Tactical- II, southern Chin state, said a local from Matupi Town.

    The event was organized by the Township administration department. The winner of the Township level cultural dance competition will participate in a state level culture dance contest.

    Dai, Matu, Mara and Zotung cultural dances competed with their cultural dance. The Matu cultural dance received the first prize with the presentation of the Khotue cultural dance of Matu.

    The winning group was awarded 20,000 Kyats by Colonel Han Tu, Tactical- II commander and 10,000 Kyats from the in-charge of Matupi Chin National Front’s liaison office respectively.

    Matu cultural dance group will participate in the state level cultural dance competition on October 2012 which is to be hosted in Hakha, the capital of Chin state. Khonumthung news
