Trainees from Batch-6 of the Asho Chin Defense Force (ACDF), engaged in fighting against the military council in western Magway Region, are experiencing food shortages due to the number of trainees being nearly three times greater than that of previous batches.
On 1 April, the ACDF announced that both male and female trainees in the basic military training of Batch-6 are facing hardships, including strenuous training and a lack of sufficient food and supplies.
ACDF spokesperson Salai Khani Lay Bway stated, “The number of trainees in Batch-6 is the highest, slightly exceeding that of Batch-5. Since it is summer, we require funds to provide adequate, nutritious food for them. The number of trainees has nearly tripled from what was initially expected. Military training is much more challenging than we anticipated.”
Twenty percent of the trainees in Batch-6 of the military training are female, while the majority of the trainees are young and middle-aged ones.
During summer military training, both male and female comrades sweat heavily and require additional nutrients and protein. The demand for these supplies has risen due to the increased number of trainees in Batch-6 compared to other batches.
The ACDF is facing financial difficulties as it has had to provide basic necessities, such as liberation shoes and uniforms, for the trainees.
The ACDF has called on the public to assist in providing the necessary food and supplies, ensuring that both male and female trainees can continue their military training with full support.
The ACDF is engaged in resistance against the military dictatorship in the Asho Chin areas of Magway Region, to the west of the Ayeyarwady River.
