Arrested Police Lieutenant Reveals SAC positions in Hakha

Police Lieutenant Ye Kyaw Lin Oo disclosed information about soldiers under the State Administration Council (SAC), including their positions in the capital of Chin State, after members of the Hakha Chinland Defense Force (CDF) apprehended him on Sunday.

Using this information, “We will continue to attack our enemy in Hakha town” at these locations, one at a time, said the officer.

CDF apprehended Ye Kyaw Lin Oo and four additional police from a government office they were guarding on March 10. The CDF also arrested two soldiers wearing civilian clothing on March 9 and 13.

In early 2021, shortly after the military seized control of the country, the police lieutenant threatened to kill anti-coup protestors in the town.

Since Monday, the regime’s soldiers have been shelling Hakha and firing their assault rifles indiscriminately in the town.

“A shell hit a civilian house…killing a father and injuring other members of his family,” a Hakha resident told Khonumthung News on condition of anonymity.

Attacks have increased since government staff protected by armed soldiers and police began collecting lists of the civilian population for forced conscription, which the SAC recently enacted.

Internet services were also suspended at the same time as when the attacks began.
