The first arbitrary arrests and conscriptions took place during the sixth round of conscription in October 2024 when 45 people were taken. The Institute of Chin Affairs (ICA) reports that a total of 474 members of Chin resistance members, including nine women, have been killed during the four years of resistance against military dictatorship in Chin State. The ICA released its research findings on 1 February on the military council’s human rights violations against Chin people during the four years since the military coup. A junta airstrike on displaced persons (IDP) sheltering in Kokeko Village, in the south of Kale (Kalay) Township in Sagaing Region, killed nine IDPs, including three children and injured a further 17 IDPs. On 31 January 2025, at about 5:00 pm junta aircraft dropped two bombs on the IDPs staying in Kokeko Village, despite there being no fighting in the area at the time. Healthcare services have been greatly reduced due to a shortage of doctors and medicines in Samee Town in Arakan Army (AA) controlled Paletwa Township in southern Chin State.
