The Mahemiah Co-operation Company (MCC) is planning to construct a tourist hotel in Hakha, capital of Chin state, western Myanmar if the state authorities permit, said Pu Thawng Za lian, a company official. MCC will open its office in Hakha next month and at the opening ceremony, the Chief Minister of Chin state, other ministers, local elders and religious leaders will be invited, he added.

Many Chin people have moved to Kaladan River bank in order to escape gun fights between Arakan Army (AA) and the Myanmar Army in Paletwa township. Khumi media reported that Pinso villagers in Paletwa township moved to the Indo-Myanmar border and Kaladan River bank because of gun fights in the last week of March and the first week of April in Paletwa. Local people in Mindat town have opposed the construction of a new Township Hall in the town by the Chin state government. The existing Kumti Hall will be demolished. The Chin National Democratic Party (CNDP) conducted a workshop for the 2015 general elections due in November at Thantlang town in Chin state on 30 April 2015. There were 70 participants from all party units in the town at the workshop. The Chin Ceasefire Monitoring Team (CCMT) clarified 51 points of agreement between the government and Chin National Front (CNF) on 28 April in Hakha, Chin state western Myanmar. The Chin state government has permitted registration of the plot of Hakha Cross to Hakha Christian Ministry Fellowship (HCMF). “It cannot be taken for granted that they had given the permission to register the area of Hakha Cross, as the HCMF group will submit an application.
