A move to resolve the starvation situation in Chin state, Burma led to a survey between 7 January and 10 February by Pu Lal Maung Cung, a member of state Hluttaw and a representative from Than Tlang constituency. The 65th Chin National Day celebration is to be jointly organized by the Chin National Front and Chin state government in Hakha, the capital of Chin state. Non-Christian locals of 56 miles point, Tuiding trek of Mindat Township, southern Chin state, Burma have been opposing the construction of a Christian pastor quarters since the first week of February. The local people have accused Christians of being behind the problems that arise between Buddhists and Muslims. “They should not make groundless remarks. The local people should avoid such accusation and not relate it to the construction of Pastor quarter’s building because there are no Muslims here,” said a leader of local Christian community.

Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) in Mizoram a northeast state of India have declared their support to the Kuki State Demand Committee (KSDC) in Manipur northeast state of India. A meeting of four different Chin youth groups was held in Hakha, capital of Chin state, Burma on 2 February leading to the formation of the Chin Youth Organization (CYO). Demanding compensation for their lands, local people in Mizoram have forced a stop to the road construction work of the Kaladan multipurpose project by India and Burma. The project has been undertaken by the Mizoram Public Works Department (PWD) and the road construction has started from Lawngtlai district to Zochhachhuak village.
