The Sinletwa, Paletwa township based army camp LIB 238 in Chin state has given security duty to civil militia from eight villages within its area from July to curb the activity of an armed group.

Khonumthung News 23 July 2011: Burmese residing in New Delhi staged a demonstration yesterday to express their disappointment over India government supplying arms and ammunition in 52 military trucks to the world’s most notorious Burmese military regime recently.
An estimated 20,000 bottles of locally made alcohol is being sold in Falam town of Chin state, Burma annually. Local alcohol brewers have being asking for permission to produce alcohol from license holders in the town to sell special, middle and lower qualities respectively. There are two country liquor producers who operate legally in the town.

12 July 2011: Regular school lessons are being missed by students of Kalemyo, Sagaing division of Burma, because teachers are not teaching regularly. “Most of students cannot follow lessons because the teachers do not teach regularly during school hours,” said a local from Kalemyo.
