The Government of India will provide US $ 6 million for the development of Chin state. “The Indian Consul General Dr. Madan Mhohan Sethi based in Mandalay visited Hakha, the capital of Chin state yesterday and said that the Indian government will help Chin state’s development with US $ 6 million,” said a member of a political party.

An estimated 20,000 bottles of locally made alcohol is being sold in Falam town of Chin state, Burma annually. Local alcohol brewers have being asking for permission to produce alcohol from license holders in the town to sell special, middle and lower qualities respectively. There are two country liquor producers who operate legally in the town.
