A Burma army artillery shell struck a drug rehabilitation centre operated by a church group in Kalay Township, Sagaing Region, claiming the lives of at least four individuals on the evening of April 5.  A man associated with a civil society group reported that the victims were killed instantly when the shell landed in the compound of Chhan Chhuahna Rûn. Additionally, ten people sustained injuries, with two of them in critical condition. The army also deployed drones to drop bombs in the area. The regime injured children and adults with cluster bombs dropped on a village in Mindat Township by a jet fighter, according to the local People’s Administration. The airstrike injured a 2-year-old girl, a 4-year-old boy, two women, and a man in Ouk Chai village in the Taik Nel 13 area on April 3. Twelve houses were completely destroyed by the cluster bombs. A school, teacher’s residence, and other homes were also damaged. Over two-hundred residents of Kanpetlet are suffering from food shortages after the local Chinland Defense Force (CDF) restricted food supplies to the town in an effort to starve out the occupying Burma army soldiers. A Kanpetlet resident stated that very few vendors are selling food, and all markets have closed. The CDF allows families to transport small amounts of food from Hsaw town in Magwe Township, but they are unable to carry much fresh meat, fish, or vegetables by motorcycle or on foot due to the dangerous conditions accessing the main roadway. Several fighter jets launched multiple attacks on a village in Mindat Township in southern Chin State. Ko Har Kalay from Mindat town informed Khonumthung News that three regime vessels took turns attacking Ouk Chai. They dropped a total of 10 bombs, including 500 lb shells, and strafed the village with machine gun fire in the afternoon of April 2nd. The Chinland Council will cooperate with Indian authorities to oppress illicit drug trafficking in the six Chin State townships along the India–Burma border, according to the Secretary of Chinland Council. “Trafficking of narcotics and illicit drugs has spread in Tedim, Tonzang, Thangtlang and Paletwa Townships.
