At least 20 civilians, including a child and four women, have been killed by concealed landmines in Chin State, where fighting has escalated since the 2021 coup, according to the Chin Human Rights Organization (CHRO). The Military Council has reportedly installed five CCTV cameras in Hakha, the capital of Chin State, to monitor the activities of the Chin resistance. The Cluster Munition Coalition (CMC), an international group against deadly explosives that have caused numerous civilian casualties around the world, said Burma’s ruling Military Council has produced and used the bombs during the war against resistance groups in Chin, Karenni, Karen, and Shan states over the last 13 months.
