The Burma army has blocked the road from Kalay to Thaing Ngin and Tedim and isn’t allowing buses or trucks to pass the checkpoint at 9-mile at certain times, delaying travel from Kalay to the Indian border. “Soldiers often close the 9-mile checkpoint during the day. Jet fighters killed two villagers and wounded at least five others in an attack near Camp Victoria in Thangtlang Township in northern Chin State on Thursday, 27 April. On the morning of 24 April, the Civil Defense Militia – Siyin (CDM – Siyin) ambushed a Burma army (BA) military convoy with landmine attacks near Hiang Zing village in Tedim Township. Three civilians were killed in Burma army airstrikes on Panpa village in Mindat Township of southern Chin state. A four year-old and a 70 year-old were killed on the spot during the airstrikes. A 17 year-old girl was seriously wounded during the airstrikes, and eventually succumbed to her injuries later that evening.
