The Burma army set fire to 30 civilian houses in Kalar village in Matupi Township in southern Chin State. Kalar village is located on the Matupi – Paletwa vehicle road. On 2 April, a combined force of local armed resistance groups clashed with the Burma army near Tuingo village in Kalay Township of Sagaing Region. The clashes broke out around 8 a.m. when a junta military column was on patrol in the area between Tuingo and Min HLa villages. Hundreds of Chins have been killed since the coup that reverted the country to a dictatorship over two years ago after a reform period lasting three elections.
