The Chin resistance has suffered casualties during several days of non-stop conflict with over 200 regime fighters along the Falam-Hakha road in northern Chin State. Burma Army (BA) soldiers attacked homes in a village in the conflict-ridden Sagaing Region where no immediate armed clashes had been reported. The regime’s armed forces have tightened security at all checkpoints in Chin State’s capital, Hakha, to crack down on anyone using a virtual private network (VPN) to access the internet, which is banned. Fighting between junta troops and civilian resistance groups trying to overthrow Burma’s military dictatorship has prevented supplies of fuel, rice and other vital foodstuffs not grown by farmers in the remote town in southern Chin State from reaching Matupi for several months, causing the price of remaining supplies to rise exponentially or become unavailable altogether.
