One man was killed and two women wounded by military artillery fire during fighting with the Chinland Defence Force (CDF) in Kanpetlet, southern Chin State. A source familiar with the situation told Khonumthung News on condition of anonymity that Min Yan Aung, 32, from ward 2 was killed by a shell that hit his friend’s house while he was sleeping on the first floor. Chin resistance groups were forced to withdraw from a village in Tedim Township, where the civilian fighters prevented the regime from helping 100 Burma Army (BA) soldiers who were trapped by the groups near another village. Since the military overthrew the democratic government almost a year ago, the junta has killed 163 ethnic Chin.
