Pu Lal Maung Cung, the bus owner and Chin state Hluttaw representative from Chin National Party has apologized to the families of the people who died in a mini-bus accident in Hakha Township, Chin state on February 27.

The bus accident, which killed three persons and injured 37 passengers, occurred between Than Tlang and Hakha around 1 p.m. local standard time.

“I apologize to the families who are suffering in the name of our God. I cannot do a good thing for a human being, but I am afraid to hurt people, so I apologize to them,” said Pu Lal Maung Cung.

The dead were identified as Mr. Maung Maung (18) from Dinlo Block, Hakha, the capital of Chin state, Mrs. Thla Tial (37), Myotit Block. The two died on the spot while Lal Ram Pui (19) succumbed to serious injuries in Hakha civil hospital.

The bus driver lost control, when the brake failed, said a youth leader from Hakha.
