The Chin Brotherhood (CB) announced that it has seized control of 12 junta camps in Mindat and Falam Townships, Chin State, during its offensive, and nearly 270 soldiers and police officers, along with their family members, have surrendered to the CB.

“We took all the surrendered prisoners of war to a safe place. They were taken to a place away from the battle. We keep them safely and securely,” said Ko Yaw Mann, Spokesperson of the CB.

During the operation to capture Mindat, the Chin Brotherhood (CB) took control of seven military camps where soldiers and police were stationed. These included the San Min Thiri Pagoda Hill, the staff quarters in Sanpya Ward, the District Construction Compound, Tower Hill, Ho Tat (Mindat), Mya Lay Pwint Pagoda Hill, and the 4th Mile Hill.

In a statement released on 20 December, the Chin Brotherhood (CB) announced that after more than a month of fighting, it is now focusing its offensive on the remaining military camps in Mindat and Falam. The targets include the Mindat District/Township police station compound and Light Infantry Battalion (LIB)-274.

On 15 December, a total of 123 members of the military council and police force from the Mindat District/Township police area, along with their family members, were taken as prisoners of war after they surrendered.

“We had to prepare for months to ensure success. We encircled the town and carefully planned the advance of our military columns, as well as scouting and passage. When the fighting began, we had to face it with courage, treating it like a full-scale war,” said Ko Yaw Mann.

In the operation to capture Falam, the Chin Brotherhood (CB) and allied forces seized five key locations: the Falam District Police Office, Falam Township Police Office, the Construction Office, the General Administration Office, and the Hospital Hill.

One week after the operation on 12 November, a total of 45 soldiers and police officers surrendered, along with their arms and ammunition.

According to the CB, they will continue their intense offensive to capture the remaining junta camps in Mindat and Falam.

The CB announced that it will continue to fight alongside allied forces against the terrorist dictatorship, with the goal of eliminating the military council from Chin land.

Since 9 November, the CB and its allied forces have been carrying out offensives to capture the towns of Mindat and Falam, under the operation named “Operation CB”.

The United League of Arakan/Arakha Army (ULA/AA), Burma National Revolutionary Army (BNRA) from Sagaing, Generation Z Army (GZA) and Anyar revolutionary forces from Magway Region and Yaw are participating in the Operation CB.

The CB is composed of PDF-Zoland, CDF-Mindat, Maraland Defense Force (MDF), CDF-Kanpetlat, CDF-Matupi and Brigade-1.
