CDF Launch Offensive In Southern Chin State

The Kanpetlet Chinland Defence Force (CDF) fought with the Burma Army (BA) in Kanpetlet town during an offensive launched by the resistance group in southern Chin State a fortnight ago.

By its own account, the Chin group killed at least 5 BA soldiers, while its fighters suffered no casualties in the hour-long battle on Tuesday 20 September.

Rifles, ammunition, 40mm grenades and a flak jacket were recovered during the skirmish in the town, CDF told Khonumthung News.

The CDF attacked BA Infantry Battalion 274 in Mindat town with grenade launchers in protest against the regime selling food at reduced prices to locals on Wednesday.

The group is opposed to the ‘food fair’ in the town, which it claims is a propaganda stunt to gain the favour of the people.
