    Centralization system to be discussed in workshop

    The Centralization system will be discussed in the forthcoming national level workshop on economic development for more transparency and persuasion of centralism in the national economic system by the Chin National Party (CNP).

    “We should pursue centralism in our economic system if you want reforms and transparency. We will submit this issue discussion,” said Salai Ceu Bik Thawng, General Secretary of CNP.

    The workshop invitation letter has been despatched. They have insufficient time to prepare on this issue, but the party will discuss about the centralization system in the workshop, said CNP General Secretary.

    Thirty Burmese political parties were invited to attend the workshop by the Burmese military authorities from 19 to 21 August.

    The government should go for cleaning the government structure in the country and show it to the international community in practical terms. After which the international community will withdraw its sanctions on Burma and economic and social issues will be resolved in the country, said Salai Ceu Bik Thawng.

    Salai Ceu Bik Thawng pointed out that the government should reform the country’s situation by way of development.

    “We should discuss issues of peace and stability in the country and reconciliation to promote peace and confidence in each other. The democratic system will not be practiced without peace and development in the country,” said Salai Thawng.

    Three representatives including the general secretary of CNP, who contested the 2010 election, have been invited to the workshop starting today.

    The government also invited Burma’s opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi on Friday to attend it’s a national level workshop on economic development, but it is not clear whether Suu Kyi will attend. Khonumthung news
