A report said that a truck, which carried 250 bags of rice and other food items for flood affected people in Chin state, was accident on the way from Merabawk area, 8 km from Chawngtlai village, Indo-Myanmar border at 2:30 am on 19 August.
Vanglaini Newspaper highlighted that the driver and handyman were injured and they were taken to Khawzawl civil hospital. The truck had fallen 100 meters from the main road and 100 bags of rice were spoiled on the spot.
The relief aid items were sent by Chin Emergency Relief Committee (Delhi) and Mizo Students Union (MSU) from Aizawl, which has to be, transported from Aizawl – Champhai – Farkawn – Victoria Camp in Thantlang (Myanmar) to Hakha for flood and landslide victims in Chin state.
Meanwhile, ZONET, local TV channel has organized a charity in idol show for flood affected people in Chin state and Kalay-Kabaw region last night and the viewers donated more than Rs. 4,00,000 (four hundred thousand rupees).
