Jet fighters killed two villagers and wounded at least five others in an attack near Camp Victoria in Thangtlang Township in northern Chin State on Thursday, 27 April.
Dimte, a teacher who joined the civil disobedience movement against the military regime, and Pu Hram Ceu were killed in the airstrike on Tlanglo at 3:30pm.
The village is about 7 miles from Camp Victoria, the headquarters of the Chin National Front, the political wing of the Chin National Army (CNA).
According to locals, at least five houses were damaged in the bombing after the regime lost a military outpost near the Ti River between Thangtlang and Hakha townships in the morning.
The CNA and several Chin resistance groups had captured the outpost at 1am.
They later attacked two other camps in the area until the regime called in airstrikes and forced them to retreat.
According to CNF, one CNA soldier was killed in the attack on the outpost and the regime is believed to have suffered many casualties. Khonumthung News, however, couldn’t independently confirm this information.
Between 30 March and 27 April, at least 23 civilians were killed by junta airstrikes in Chin State.
