The bodies of three men allegedly murdered by the Burma Army (BA) after being abducted a day earlier were discovered by locals in Na Moon Ter in Sagaing Region, where the army are looting and burning houses as part of a massive offensive against resistance groups and civilians in the area.

Last Thursday, Pao Ting Thang and Hao Lin Mang from Yan Lin Fai and Say Hko Thang from Khun Moon Nom were detained by BA soldiers as the men hid in several buildings.

A BA column arrived in Yan Lin Fai in the evening and began firing indiscriminately, burning down 6 houses. Most people hid in the rice fields or fled to the Indian border.

Yan Lin Fai has over 130 houses and is located on the road from Tamu to Kalay. Many of the residents are Htadoh Kee, who belong to the Chin ethnic group.

According to reports, on 22 June, the Tamu People’s Defence Force’s Battalion 3 attacked a column of 100 soldiers with landmines, killing at least 25 BA fighters and members of the Pyu Saw Htee proxy militia and damaging two military vehicles in Tamu township.

Khonumthung News cannot independently confirm these casualties.

On 8 June, the BA destroyed a Christian church in Yan Lin Fai.

The regime indiscriminately fired 12 shells, injuring seven civilians and their property in Kalay town during fighting with resistance groups on 13 June. Four houses in the town in Sagaing Region were completely destroyed after seven shells hit a ward of the town, which is frequently shelled by BA.
