An assistant inspector of police in Hakha, capital of Chin state went berserk and hit a preacher on the face. He also stoned his house at 9 p.m. on 12 September.

The incident was related to Thun Lwin, the policeman who scolded him and prohibited the preacher Cung Aung and his friend, who were singing gospel songs in their house.

A report said that three policemen threw stones at Mr. Cung Aung’s house again. The house was littered with broken glasses. This incident occurred after a girl living near the preacher’s house complained at the police station.

“When neighbours arrived the policemen walked away. The three policemen Thun Lwin, Kyaw Mint Shwe and Aung Pho have been arrested,” said a house owner.

A local newspaper reported that higher authorities will take action against the policemen.  Khonumthung news
