This September, the 2019 HWPL World Peace Summit: 5th Anniversary of the WARP Summit will be held in Myanmar.
The event has been held annually in the Republic of Korea since 2014, providing a platform for leaders in politics, religion, youth and women’s groups, media, and civil society around the world to discuss the ideas and practices required to achieve peace, a common goal of the global community.
In this 5th Anniversary, will share outcomes from the past year in which various fields focused on solidifying peace networks and more detailed direction of the advancement for actualizing world peace.
For this purpose, there will be events held in various countries around the world to establish a universal order and standard that is applicable internationally.
In particular, the 2019 HWPL World Peace Summit in Myanmar will introduce the DPCW and the Peace Letter Campaign to the various groups of people from politics, religion, groups of youth and women, and media.
There will be an MoU signing ceremony between HWPL and Sitagu Buddhist Academy in Thanlyin for implementing further peace education
According to the Ms. Crystal Po Gyaw, board member of National YWCA of Myanmar said “When we respect and understand each ethnic and religions, Myanmar will become peaceful country. And I’m cooperating with IWPG by sharing peace knowledge and writing peace letters with youths and our children”.
And also she explained “The event is about making people to be aware of DPCW and to know the importance of starting peace work from ourselves.”
The DPCW that stands for Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War was drafted by international law experts in cooperation with HWPL as a comprehensive documentation of the principles of peace that are required in this current era through an inclusive approach for resolving conflicts.
The host organization HWPL, also known as Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light, is an international peace NGO in Special Consultative Status with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and associated with the UN Department of Global Communications (DGC).
This event will be hosted by HWPL and its affiliated organizations; International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) and International Peace Youth Group (IPYG) on Saturday 31st August 2019 at 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM in Taw Win Garden Hotel.
