Soldiers from the regime’s Infantry Battalion (IB) 274 reportedly killed civilians they had abducted while on patrol near a university west of Mindat in southern Chin State.

According to a local source who requested anonymity, the army abducted the three people about nine miles from Mindat. The bodies of two of the victims were found by their families about four miles from the town. The victims are from Lung Hker, Thangroe and Nangi villages.

The Mindat Chinland Defence Force, which is fighting the regime’s military, has not yet issued a statement on the incident.

The junta has sent more soldiers to IB-274 in Mindat and increased patrols around the town, where soldiers inspect civilians every day.

Several days ago, two Mindat youths were arrested on their way to Pakkoku town in Magwe Region to seek medical treatment.

According to the military mouthpiece, the Telegram Channel, regime forces clashed with a local resistance group near Pan Aw village in Mindat Township, killing some of them and capturing several homemade traditional hunting rifles.
