    Regime Shelling Injures Mindat Minors

On Friday, two children in Mindat were injured by shelling from the State Administration Council’s (SAC) Light Infantry Battalion 274 in the southern Chin State town.

The local Chinland Defense Force, engaged in conflict against SAC troops in the area, reported that a 17-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy were wounded by artillery shelling in Taik Nel 4 of Mindat. A house and two toilets were also damaged.

The motive behind SAC shelling the area remains unknown.

Locals mentioned that the CDF had previously attacked a security checkpoint at the town’s entrance, resulting in the death of a police sergeant and injuries to three other policemen on 24 September.

A few days later, an elderly man was fatally injured by a concealed SAC landmine explosion on his way to his farm.

His spouse was also injured during the blast that occurred at the entrance of Mindat. Ko Yaw Mang, from the People’s Administration for Mindat Township, said that medics from IB 247 provided treatment to the injured woman.

The CDF frequently conducts ambushes on SAC’s camps, police stations, and security checkpoints in the town. In response, the regime has heightened security measures, including random arrests of civilians in the town.

CDF has issued a warning to residents, urging them to remain vigilant in light of the SAC’s unlawful actions in Mindat.
