A regime airstrike in Paletwa town, southern Chin State, has reportedly killed several prisoners of war held by the Arakan Army (AA), injuring others. Additionally, two civilians, including an eight-year-old, were killed, and at least four civilians suffered injuries.
Three Brotherhood Alliance, of which AA is part of, reported that a jet fighter attacked the town twice on the afternoon of February 11, using bombs and machine gun fire.
Furthermore, a State Administration Council (SAC) jet fighter bombed Hum village in the Daai region three times at the end of last month, killing at least seven civilians. The area, controlled by the Daai Chinland Defence Force in Paletwa Township, suffered the attack.
Since mid-January, the Arakan Army has captured all military and police camps from the regime in the township. The armed group has expelled all SAC soldiers from the area, except for its prisoners, whom it provides medical attention for their injuries.
With no boots on the ground, SAC has resorted to indiscriminate shelling from afar and conducting airstrikes, resulting in civilian casualties.
