    Some Chin leaders’ names deleted from blacklist

    Among the names of 1,147 people removed from a blacklist by the office of President Thein Sein on 30 August are some Chin leaders.

    Dr. Salai Tun Than, Salai Bawi Lian Mang, Director of Chin Human Rights Organization (CHRO), Salai Za Uk Ling from CHRO, Salai Za Ceu Lian and Pu Thang Ning Kee, Supreme Council member of Chin National Front are the ones  whose names have been deleted from the blacklist maintained  by Burma’s former military junta.

    Some more names of Chins were removed. They are:

    1/ VanThawng               2/ Raymond Thawng                  3/ Duh Tial

    4/ Haring Tinsung          5/ Lian Sung                              6/ Parsung

    7/ SuiMaung                  8/ Suan Khan Taung                   9/ Thawngsunmang

    10/ Thangliau                11/ ThaungSu                            12/ Thazul Ceu

    13/ Tin Mang                 14/ VanThawng                         15/ Vauheli Thang

     

    But the government has not mentioned their nationalities in the release relating to removal of names from the blacklist.

    It is learnt that some Chin leaders are yet to be included in a removal list.

    The Irrawaddy reported on 30 August that the list includes Burmese dissidents, foreign activists, journalists, historians, UN staff and the sons of opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi. Khonumthung news
