Zoland PDF Captures Strategic Mountain in Chin State from SAC

Zoland People’s Defence Force (PDF) seized a State Administration Council (SAC) camp on top of Kennedy Mountain in Tedim Township after launching a three-hour attack in the early morning on Tuesday.

A PDF officer said they killed 2 of the 30 SAC soldiers based in the camp and arrested one of them while the rest fled before the PDF fighters captured it. They also seized a cache of weapons and ammo that was left behind, including some 40 mm and 60 mm mortars.

Kennedy Mountain, the second-highest mountain in Chin State, holds strategic value as it overlooks a stretch of highway from Kalay – Tedim road. Both towns can be seen from on top of it.

Various Chin resistance groups have been capturing many SAC bases in the state in recent months, and these victories have grown after many armed groups fighting the regime in other parts of the country have increased offensives coinciding with Three Brotherhood’s Alliance’s 1027 Operation in late October.

Chin National Defense Force (CNDF) captured Tibual (also spelled Ti Bwar) military camp from SAC in Falam Township on November 15.

“Most of the SAC soldiers ran away from their camp and we are still chasing them. Our troops has blocked roads and are trying to capture them,” said CNDF spokesperson Salai Cung Ngai after the attack.

CNDF and other resistance groups also seized Myauk Si camp in southern Kalay Township and the town of Khampat in Tamu District.

CNDF took over Val camp, situated on Kalay – Falam road. Chin National Army has seized the town of Rihkhawdar along the India border.
