Fighting broke out between two anti-junta Chin resistance forces, the Chin National Defence Force (CNDF) and Hualngoram Chinland Defence Force (CDF) in the Hualngoram region of Chin State’s Falam Township, on 2 July 2025. The Lawktu People’s Administration Team announced on 16 June that it has prohibited freedom of expression, as well as the use of communication devices and internet installations for local residents in the Lawktu area of Chin State. Over the past five months in 2025, the military junta conducted 18 airstrikes in Mindat Township, Chin State, resulting in 10 deaths and 20 injuries among local residents, according to a statement from the interim Mindat Township People’s Administration Team.
