A 30-year-old Chin woman died after being beaten by soldiers from the Military Council during an interrogation in Kalay town. Ma Doh Dik Hui, from the village of Pyi Taw Tha, was stopped at a military checkpoint while riding her motorcycle with a friend in late August. Villagers affected by the conflict in four townships of Chin State have been provided over 30 million kyat ($14k) in emergency relief from Network For Chin Community Development (NCCD). The Cluster Munition Coalition (CMC), an international group against deadly explosives that have caused numerous civilian casualties around the world, said Burma’s ruling Military Council has produced and used the bombs during the war against resistance groups in Chin, Karenni, Karen, and Shan states over the last 13 months. The Asho Chinland Defense Force (CDF) attacked a regime military camp tasked with guarding a gas pipeline station on the Minbu–Ann highway road in southern Magwe Region.
