    Hakha Hospital Discharges Chin State’s Last Confirmed COVID-19 Patient

    Patient 232 was discharged from Hakha hospital on Monday in Chin State after his COVID-19 test came back negative twice.

    The man was the last confirmed patient with COVID-19 in Chin State, the location where Burma’s first coronavirus patient was also found.

    “His testing results have been negative two times. He is going to leave the hospital today. His health is fine. He will have to stay in home quarantine for seven days after leaving the hospital,” Dr. Mang Biek Kong, head of Hakha’s public hospital, told Khonumthung News.

    Patient 232 had returned to his native Mindat town from Malaysia, and tested positive for COVID-19 while staying in a quarantine facility in the town. He was then transferred to Hakha hospital, where he received treatment.

    There have been 10 confirmed cases of the pandemic in Chin State. Among them, Cases 1, 23, 31, 78, 113, 150, 182, 200, and 201 have already been discharged from the hospital, making 232 the last.

    There are no confirmed COVID-19 cases left in Chin State.

    Burma’s Ministry of Health and Sports has reported 313 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country, along with six deaths and 241 recoveries.
